About the role

The Direct Patient Care Registered Nurse- DPC RN is a licensed professional responsible for delivering patient-family centered care in a culturally competent manner. This role requires proficiency and mastery of core competencies including assessment, technical skills, communication, critical thinking, interpersonal skills, planning, intervention, evaluation, flexibility, organizational skills, professional accountability, leadership, and service.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient needs and develop care plans
• Provide direct patient care in accordance with established protocols
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care
• Participate in ongoing education and professional development
• Adhere to infection control and safety protocols
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care

Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse license in the state of Florida
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification
• ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification
• Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certifications
• Associate’s degree in Nursing or equivalent
• Completion of a preceptor class within twelve months of being deemed competent by department leadership for independent practice
• Additional certifications may be required based on department standards

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred but not required for RNs hired before certain dates
• Experience in pediatric or neonatal care is preferred
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
