About the Role
We are seeking a full-time Clinical Instructor (AM/PM) for our Vocational Nursing program. This role includes teaching in classrooms, labs, and clinical settings. Evening and weekend clinical shifts come with a 10% pay differential on top of the hourly rate. Clinicals are conducted off-site at hospitals and healthcare facilities.
Responsibilities
- Improve instruction quality by reviewing and utilizing innovative teaching methodologies and techniques.
- Demonstrate or acquire skills for integrating online activities to enhance course content during interactive teaching.
- Assist with reviewing and revising syllabi and instructional guidelines for specific courses within the program.
- Submit required program reports and forms to the Director of the program in a timely manner.
- Stay current with new technologies and safety regulations.
- Maintain student records, including attendance, grades, and skills check-off forms, and assist with program data collection to meet deadlines.
- Update and maintain student files related to clinical requirements, immunizations, and educational prerequisites.
- Teach courses at various times and locations to meet program needs, including both lecture content and clinical rotations (days, evenings, weekdays, and/or weekends).
- Participate in professional development, maintain continuing education hours for licensure renewal, and stay current with college updates.
- Actively participate in assigned committees, balancing teaching responsibilities as a priority.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) with current licensure in the state of application.
- 3 years of bedside experience with a Bachelor’s Degree, or 6 years of experience with an Associate’s Degree.
- Ability to meet faculty requirements set by the Board of Vocational Nursing.
- Demonstrated current knowledge of nursing practice and ability to mentor students in classroom, lab, and clinical settings.
- Ability to work independently without close supervision.
- Broad knowledge of nursing sciences and successful handling of day-to-day operations in the nursing lab.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Current knowledge and experience in a clinical setting.
- Up-to-date immunizations and Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
Pay
The salary range for this position is $104,000–$115,000 per year. A 10% differential is added for evening and weekend shifts.
