Registered Nurse Inpatient ED (1600)

About the role

The Registered Nurse coordinates total patient care and education for patients across various hospital departments including ICU, CVSU, ED, medical-surgical floors, and telemetry floors. They rotate between weekends and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Uses the nursing process to provide safe patient care
• Rotates between ICU, CVSU, ED, medical-surgical floors, and telemetry floors
• Assignments are made based on current staffing needs
• Works and relates professionally with peers, physicians, administration, patients, and visitors
• Documents total care given and maintains patient charts per policy
• Affixes accurate and timely entry of patient data, orders, and charges into the computer system
• Collaborates with the Chief Nursing Officer, Associate Chief Nursing Officer, Nurse Manager, and staff
• Collaborates with physicians, administrators/assistants, and peers
• Assists as directed in problem-solving by promoting teamwork between staff, physicians, home health, and hospital-owned outpatient clinics and all other ancillary departments
• Passes a pharmacology test for this position
• Maintains attendance to yearly mandatory education requirements
• Maintains all certifications and licensure requirements on time

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN)
• Current RN license in state of practice
• Current BLS certification
