Registered Nurse Infusion (RN) (31934)

GI Alliance is seeking an experienced RN Infusion to provide professional nursing care for patients, including assessment, treatment, care planning, and medical evaluation while following established professional standards and practices.

Responsibilities

• Obtains patient consent for care and ensures patient confidentiality.
• Obtains and documents health history, chief complaint, vital signs, and health risk factors; assesses disease condition.
• Provides patient care based on nursing practice guidelines, company policies, INS standards, and federal/state laws.
• Executes prescribed treatments and medical interventions, administers medications, and monitors/document treatment progress and patient response.
• Consults with physicians, other health providers, and community resources to prevent/resolve problems.
• Educates patients and families about health status, maintenance, and management of acute/chronic conditions.
• Documents patient assessment and intervention data using medical record forms/automated systems.
• Maintains/reviews patient records, posts tests/examination results, and ensures accurate medication inventory.
• Responds to/refers incoming patient treatment-related phone calls while maintaining confidentiality.
• Administers medications via PO, IV, SC, and IM as prescribed.
• Coordinates and executes treatment plans; schedules follow-up appointments.
• Collaborates with GIA Research department as required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Current state registered nurse license.
• Current CPR certificate.
• CRNI certification preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years professional nursing experience.
• Minimum of 1 year infusion experience in acute, outpatient, home, and/or physician office settings.
• Gastroenterology experience preferred.

Qualifications

• RN degree from an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred.
• Knowledge of nursing processes, healthcare systems, structure, and community resources.
• Understanding of healthcare technology, equipment, and supplies.
• Familiarity with state nursing laws, nurse practice guidelines, INS standards, and GIA policies.
• Proficiency in IV access (peripheral/central venous devices) and chart/medical record documentation.
• Knowledge of HIPAA laws, OSHA safety hazards, and quality control standards.
• Skills in time management, problem-solving, multitasking, and medical care coordination.
• Strong verbal/written communication and patient triage (in-person/phone).
• Ability to counsel patients/families, interpret physician orders, calculate/administer drug dosages, and maintain records.
