Qualifications

• Minimum Education: Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
• Prior Experience: None.
• Prior Experience Preferred: Two years in acute care. Previous clinical nursing experience.
• Required Certifications/Licenses: Possession of current Texas State License for Registered Nurse.
• Prior Certifications/Licenses Preferred:
• AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire.
• AHA ACLS within 60 days of hire or transfer into role (LABOR & DELIVERY).
• AHA NRP within 60 days of hire or transfer into role (LABOR & DELIVERY or any nurse floated into L&D).
• GNOSIS introduction to Fetal Heart Monitoring with 30 days from hire date or transfer date into unit and AWHONN Intermediate Heart Monitoring with 8 months of L&D Orientation.
• Fetal Monitoring - L&D and Antepartum: Novice RNs are required to complete GNOSIS introduction to Fetal Heart Monitoring with 30 days from hire date or transfer date into unit and AWHONN Intermediate Heart Monitoring with 8 months of L&D Orientation. Experienced L&D RNs (>1 yr experience) must have AWHONN Advanced Fetal Heart Monitoring on hire or within the first 90 days of hire.
• S.T.A.B.L.E. – Level 2 Nursery: Must provide proof of prior completion or obtain within 6 months of hire or transfer date into unit (Renewal is not required).
• AHA PALS within 60 days of hire or transfer into role (PEDIATRICS).
