About the role

The Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Outpatient Infusion Clinic at Entity Medical University Hospital Authority (MUHA) is seeking a compassionate, highly skilled nursing professional to join our team. This position offers specialized care to children and adolescents with complex hematologic and oncologic conditions, providing comprehensive, family-centered care.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care in a fast-paced, outpatient setting.
  • Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, pharmacists, social workers, child life specialists, care coordinators, research teams, and ancillary support staff to deliver comprehensive care.
  • Administer chemotherapy, biotherapy, blood products, infusion therapies, and supportive treatments as per physician orders.
  • Assist with patient education and counseling regarding their medical condition and treatment plan.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient progress and develop care plans.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies and procedures, including infection control protocols.
  • Document patient care accurately and timely in accordance with hospital standards.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor of Nursing degree preferred.
  • A minimum of one year of work experience as a registered nurse required.
  • Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required.
  • Current APHON Chemotherapy/Biotherapy provider certification issued by APHON required if administering chemotherapy within one year of hire or transfer to the Outpatient Oncology/Infusion department.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of two years of nursing experience as a registered nurse preferred.
  • Chemotherapy/Outpatient Infusion experience preferred.

Skills

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in computer systems used for patient care documentation.

Pay

The pay rate for this position is $XX.XX per hour, based on experience and qualifications.

Schedule

This position is generally scheduled Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with no nights, holidays, or weekends.

  • Ability to exert up to 50 lbs. of force frequently.
  • Ability to maintain 20/40 vision, corrected, in one eye or with both eyes continuously.
  • Ability to see and recognize objects close at hand or at a distance continuously.

  • Ability to determine distance/relationship between objects; depth perception continuously.
  • Good peripheral vision capabilities continuously.
