Registered Nurse II - PCU - Days

Under general supervision, the Registered Nurse II provides individualized, goal-directed patient care to families and patients at the competent level utilizing the principles and practices of the nursing process; delivers safe and effective care and interacts with other members of the health care team to achieve desired results.

Responsibilities

• Perform job functions while standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs, working from elevated areas, and in confined/cramped spaces.
• Bend, twist, squat, and perform pinching, grasping, and fine manipulation with fingers and hands.
• Reach overhead, in all directions, and perform repetitive motions with hands, wrists, elbows, and shoulders.
• Lift and carry up to 50 lbs. unassisted; exert up to 50 lbs. of force (e.g., transferring patients, pushing wheelchairs or stretchers).
• Maintain 20/40 vision (corrected), depth perception, color discrimination, and peripheral vision.
• Maintain hearing acuity (with correction) and tactile sensory functions.
• Work in temperature extremes, rotating shifts, overtime as required, and in a latex-safe environment.
• Deal effectively with stressful situations and perform gross motor functions with frequent fine motor movements.

Requirements

• Associate’s Degree in Nursing (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
• Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross equivalent).
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• NIHSS certification preferred but not required.

Pay

Hourly pay grade: Health-28.

Schedule

• 36 scheduled weekly hours.
• 3 twelve-hour shifts per week (day shift).
