About the role
The Childhood Lead Program (CLP) seeks a nurse consultant with expertise in nurse case management. Under the direction of the Program Coordinator, the Nurse Consultant will provide information on Childhood Lead case management to local health departments' nurse case managers, adhering to regulations NJAC 8:51 and NJAC 8:51A. The role involves planning and conducting training programs, reviewing grantee progress reports, and participating in program planning and standards development. The consultant will also work on data quality and environmental inspections projects and utilize the Childhood Lead database system.
Responsibilities
- Provide information on Childhood Lead case management to local health departments' nurse case managers using regulations NJAC 8:51 and NJAC 8:51A.
- Participate in planning and conducting training programs and educational initiatives for nursing personnel.
- Review grantee progress reports.
- Collaborate with program coordinators and staff on program planning and the development/maintenance of department standards and procedures in nursing.
- Prepare and revise educational materials, including guides and manuals for nurses.
- Work on assigned projects related to data quality and environmental inspections.
- Utilize the Childhood Lead database system for case management.
Requirements
- Current license as a Registered Nurse.
- Experience with case management, strong communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Proficiency in Childhood Lead Database, Excel, and Word.
Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree is required; a master's degree is preferred.
- Experience in childhood lead poisoning and prevention is preferred.
Schedule
8:00 AM – 4:00 PM, with an unpaid lunch period from 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM.
Work Location
Office (Trenton, NJ) or remote work options available.
