Responsibilities
- Provides specialized care to cancer patients by administering treatments, monitoring progress, managing side effects, and offering emotional support.
- Collaborates with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Conducts thorough assessments of patients' physical and emotional conditions.
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date patient records.
- Documents patient assessments, treatments, and progress.
- Communicates effectively with other healthcare professionals.
- Participates in educational activities related to job function.
- Participates in research and clinical trials.
- Contributes to the implementation of nursing protocols and guidelines.
- Stays current with the latest advancements in oncology care.
Requirements
- 2 Year/Associate Degree in Nursing, required.
- 4 Year/Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, preferred.
- All RN’s hired and do not currently hold a BSN will be expected to demonstrate enrollment in a bachelor’s prepared nursing program within 4 years of hire. BSN must be completed within 10 years.
- NYS Licensure as a Registered Nurse, required.
- BLS Certification within 30 days from date of hire, required.
- ONS Fundamentals of Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy Administration, preferred.
- OCN Certification, preferred.
- Valid NYS Driver's License, preferred.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year RN experience, required.
- Minimum 1 year experience in Oncology, preferred.

Physical Requirements
- Medium Work - Exerting up to 50 lbs. for force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.
- Frequent grasping, hearing, repetitive motion, seeing/monitor/computer use, standing, talking, visual acuity (color, depth, perception).
- Occasional balancing, climbing, crouching, typing/clerical/dexterity, kneeling, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, stooping.
- Constant fit testing.

- Occasional bodily fluids/bloodborne exposure, chemical.
