About the role

Provides direct patient care, patient evaluation, and treatment under the supervision of the Director of Student Health Services. Maintains Standards of Professional Nursing, monitors patient records, assesses health care needs, and provides patient education. Uses a health care team approach to triage patients, perform physical assessments, and administer medications or therapy as directed by physicians and advanced practice nurses. Jointly responsible for clinic operations, including inventory and requisition of medical supplies, medications, and equipment. Delivers preventative education programs to students and serves as a Campus Security Authority (CSA).

Responsibilities

• 70% – Provide direct patient care, evaluation, and treatment while maintaining Standards of Professional Nursing.
• 10% – Maintain and monitor patient records, assess health care needs, and provide patient education.
• 8% – Use a health care team approach to triage patients, perform physical assessments, and administer medications or therapy as directed by physicians and advanced practice nurses.
• 6% – Jointly oversee clinic operations, including inventory, requisition, and maintenance of medical supplies, medications, and equipment; operate and maintain the autoclave for sterile instruments/supplies.
• 5% – Deliver preventative education programs to students (e.g., residence life programs, student organizations).
• 1% – Assist in maintaining the clinic’s web page.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Four years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
• Licensed by the State of Texas as a Registered Nurse and CPR certified.
• Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.
• Familiarity with standard nursing procedures and techniques.
• Verbal and written communication skills.
• Interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
• Ability to work with sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to use and manage an Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system.

Pay

The target base annual salary range is $59,370 up to $61,498.80 and may be negotiable based on funding availability and candidate experience/skillset.

Schedule

Work hours are Monday–Friday, 8 AM–5 PM or as work requirements indicate.
