About the role
Join a team of dedicated and compassionate staff at a new 16-bed state-of-the-art Secure Residential Facility in Essex, Vermont. Essential role in the person-centered treatment of adults with severe mental illness. Facility size: 17,000 square feet with a separate full-size gymnasium.
Responsibilities
- Utilize clinical assessment and judgment, demonstrating independent and autonomous decision making within the scope of RN practice.
- Plan, implement and evaluate all aspects of nursing care and coordinate care with internal and external partners.
- Administer prescribed treatments and medications.
- Provide on-duty supervision for professional and paraprofessional nursing staff.
- Assist Nurse Educator & RN III in facilitating ongoing competencies/trainings with nursing staff.
Requirements
- Possession of, or eligible for, licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Vermont OR eligible to practice in the state of Vermont via a multi-state license.
- Two (2) years or more of professional nursing experience.
- One (1) year or more of experience as a Registered Nurse I with the State of Vermont.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Specialty Areas: Psychiatric, Geriatric, Pediatric/Adolescent.

Pay
Starting rate may be negotiable based on experience and qualifications. Night shift differential is $4.00 for all shifts worked and both shifts receive a weekend differential of $1.50/hour. Time and a half pay is included in hours worked over 80 hours in two weeks as well!
