Job Duties
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for individuals with serious mental illness in both acute and chronic phases.
- Think critically while managing multiple priorities.
- Formulate and implement broad‑based nursing actions and individualized treatment interventions in complex care situations.
- Apply knowledge and skill in group leadership and dynamics.
- Supervise performance, make judgments, and provide actionable positive and corrective feedback.
- Delegate effectively in accordance with regulations.
- Contribute to team cohesiveness, including accepting feedback from others.
- Collaborate, problem‑solve, and negotiate with interdisciplinary treatment team members and all departments.
- Utilize effective oral and written communication skills.
- Apply knowledge of pharmacology, psychiatric and physical conditions, biopsychosocial needs, and the principles and practices of psychiatric nursing.
Minimum Qualifications
- Active RN license to practice in Virginia or a multistate RN license (upload required).
Additional Considerations
- BSN or higher degree in Psychiatric Nursing.
- Charge Nurse experience.
