Responsibilities

• Adheres to departmental policies, quality standards, and safety protocols.
• Precepts new employees and reviews clinical performance.
• Collaborates with team members to meet department goals and maintain infection control.
• Prepares patients for procedures, performs assessments, documents history, and conducts triage.
• Creates nursing histories and discusses intervention recommendations with practitioners.
• Solves complex patient and management issues independently.
• Uses effective communication to ensure patient comfort and privacy.
• Affords assistance to providers with examinations and procedures.
• Maintains a safe, therapeutic environment and accurate medical records.
• Manages supplies and equipment, ensuring compliance with regulations.
• Schedules appointments, relays test results, and facilitates patient education.
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams, problem-solves, and adapts care to patient needs.
• Participates in professional development and maintains a valid RN license.

Qualifications

• Nursing degree and valid RN license.
• Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience.
• Experience in cardiac or cardiothoracic surgery.
• CPR certification.
