Role Overview

The registered nurse provides comprehensive, family-centered care across antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and neonatal periods, including Level IV maternal care, family-centered couplet care, Level II Neonatal Care, and Maternal Fetal Medicine. They practice independently, utilizing the nursing process for assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation, while addressing patients' psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver routine and complex nursing care, delegate tasks appropriately, and develop long-term care plans.
  • Administer medications and treatments following protocols, monitor effects, and document patient information accurately.
  • Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, families, and caregivers.
  • Meet competency standards, demonstrate leadership, and uphold organizational values.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Preferred Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant nursing experience preferred.
  • Current RN license, BLS certification, and specific neonatal and fetal monitoring certifications (e.g., NRP, STABLE).
  • Completion of organizational orientation, annual competency requirements, and specialized training for perinatal care.

Additional Requirements

  • Experience in a perinatal setting, ability to manage contingencies, and strong communication skills are essential for success in this role.
