Job Summary
Provides expert education and mentoring for nursing staff, hospital administration, physicians, patients, families, and the community. Applies specialized knowledge, demonstrates skills and competencies in the delivery of nursing care.
Responsibilities
- Provides high-quality, safe, cost-effective, total nursing care to all patients.
- Assumes responsibility for overall coordination and integration of patient care based on the nursing process.
- Directs care according to established standards of safety, risk management, QI, and Infection Control, with the goal being to discharge the patient with an optimum level of care provided.
- Assumes responsibility for coordination and planning of patient care with the prescribed medical regimen.
- Administers all medication safely and in a timely manner per hospital policy.
- Performs and fulfills all HICS (Hospital Incident Command System) responsibilities, assignments, tasks and roles as directed and needed by the facility in times of emergency and/or disaster.
- Responsible for knowing the Hospital's emergency codes, including the purpose and appropriate action for each, and adheres to the Hospital policies and procedures for each emergency code.
Qualifications
Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required. Bachelor's or master's degree preferred.
Experience: Recent acute care experience required. Recent experience in specialty required.
Certifications: Currently licensed, certified, or registered to practice profession as required by law, regulation in state of practice or policy; AHA BLS and if applicable by corporate policy for unit of hire, AHA ACLS and/or PALS and/or NRP.
