Registered Nurse ICU

About the role

We are seeking an Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse (ICU RN) to provide intensive care to patients with life-threatening conditions. The ICU RN will have advanced skills in critical care settings, make quick decisions, and will be compassionate to all patients.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality care to critically ill patients by performing detailed assessments, developing care plans, and implementing complex nursing interventions
• Use advanced equipment like cardiac monitors, pulse oximeters, blood pressure monitors, ventilators, infusion pumps, and capnography devices to continuously track vital signs and physiological parameters
• Safely administer medications, intravenous fluids, and blood products with precise dosing and timing, closely monitoring patient responses to ensure effectiveness and prevent adverse reactions
• Manage life-support devices such as ventilators, dialysis machines, and cardiac monitors
• Provide emotional support and education to patients' families, acting as a liaison to ensure they understand the care being provided
• Document all aspects of patient care to ensure continuity and compliance while rigorously maintaining infection control and safety protocols to protect vulnerable patients

Requirements

• Current and valid state RN License
• BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current
• A current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current
• Completion of Critical Care Course preferred
• One year as a staff RN in acute care hospital, critical care preferred
• Critical Care RN (CCRN) Certification preferred
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

• Basic Arrythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire
