About the role

The Registered Nurse coordinates total patient care and education for patients admitted and discharged from the facility under the supervision of the Chief Nursing Officer, Associate Chief Nursing Officer, and Nurse Manager. The nurse rotates between weekends and holidays based on facility needs.

Responsibilities

  • Uses the nursing process to safely coordinate total patient care
  • Rotates between ICU, CVSU, ED, medical-surgical floors, and telemetry floors based on current staffing needs
  • Assignments are made based on current staffing needs
  • Functions independently within the scope of approved policies, procedures, and regulations for the department and organization
  • Documents total care given and maintains patient charts per policy
  • Aids in accurate and timely entry of patient data, orders, and charges into the computer system
  • Collaborates with the Chief Nursing Officer, Associate Chief Nursing Officer, Nurse Manager, and staff
  • Collaborates with physicians, administrators/assistants, and peers
  • Assists as directed in problem-solving to promote teamwork between staff, physicians, home health, and hospital-owned outpatient clinics and ancillary departments
  • Works and relates professionally, non-defensively with peers, physicians, administration, and visitors
  • Passes a pharmacology test for this position
  • Maintains attendance to yearly mandatory and assigned Healthstream education requirements
  • Maintains all certifications and licensure requirements on time

Requirements

  • Current Registered Nurse license in state of practice
  • Current BLS certification
  • Passes a background check
  • Passes a drug screen
  • Passes a pharmacology test for this position

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year of acute care experience required
  • Experience in ICU, CVSU, ED, medical-surgical floors, and telemetry floors preferred

  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficient in computer systems for patient documentation and order entry
