About the Role
The Registered Nurse I assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care using the nursing process in line with hospital standards and unit policies to monitor and evaluate patient functional status.
Requirements
- Completion of the basic professional curricula of a state-board-approved school of nursing, holding or entitled to hold a diploma or degree.
- Valid multi-state or Oklahoma Registered Nurse license.
- 0–6 months of related experience.
Skills
- Working knowledge of disease state management, bio-psychosocial model, and clinical pathways.
- Effective interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work efficiently.
- Detail-oriented for clinical and numerical data examination.
Responsibilities
- Utilizes the nursing process to care for patients, assessing and completing care with consideration for age, cultural, and psychosocial factors.
- Documents steps of the nursing process using proper medical terminology.
- Addresses patient problems and progress toward goals.
- Facilitates patient discharge through timely referrals and patient education resources, tailored to age and cultural/psychosocial factors.
- Collaborates with other disciplines as appropriate.
- Supports unit/hospital goals through performance improvement and educational activities (e.g., attending in-services, meeting education standards, completing variance reports).
Decision Making & Working Relationships
- Exercises independent judgment in decision-making, subject to general review in final stages only.
- Coordinates and leads activities of others (non-supervisory).
- Provides input on performance evaluations but does not prepare or deliver them.
- Works directly with patients, internal/external customers, healthcare professionals, and staff, including frequent interaction with individuals at the Director level or above.
Location: Intensive Care Unit, Muskogee Campus, Muskogee, Oklahoma 74401.
This position is designated as safety-sensitive under the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Use and Patient Protection Act (OMMA).
