About the role

The Vermont Veterans’ Home is seeking compassionate and motivated Registered Nurses to provide care to veterans and members with dignity and respect. Duties include developing and managing nursing care plans, instructing patients and their families in proper treatment, and providing person-centered care.

Responsibilities

- Develop and manage nursing care plans - Instruct patients and their families in proper treatment - Provide person-centered care - Encourage resident/family participation in care

Requirements

- Possession of (or eligibility for) licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Vermont OR eligible to practice in the state of Vermont via a multi-state license. - College senior in the final semester of an accredited school of nursing program, with graduation required prior to hire.

Qualifications

- Completion of an accredited school of nursing program - Passing the Nursing Licensure Exam (NCLEX)

Pay

The starting pay rate may be negotiable based on experience and qualifications.

Schedule

Evening and night shifts available. Shift differentials apply for weekend, evening, and night shifts.

Environmental Factors

Duties primarily performed in a clinical setting. Exposure to communicable diseases, bloodborne pathogens, potentially physically and verbally violent patient populations, and other stressful situations may occur. May be required to work evenings, nights, weekends, and extended shifts as needed.
