Responsibilities

  • Performs nursing assessments using various methods and tools.
  • Develops or modifies care plans based on patient needs and family involvement.
  • Evaluates and documents changes to the care plan.
  • Creates or modifies teaching plans to meet patient and family learning needs.
  • Communicates with families and healthcare team members to address health concerns.
  • Notifies healthcare team members of changes in patient status.
  • Utilizes appropriate resources for referrals or consultations.
  • Stays updated in nursing practices through current literature and departmental initiatives.
  • Works collaboratively with the team to achieve unit and hospital goals.
  • Identifies personal learning needs and seeks resources to enhance nursing practice.
  • Adheres to communication, service excellence, and professional image standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing or higher required.
  • For difficult-to-fill positions, Associate’s degree in nursing with equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a BSN or higher.
  • Current licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Illinois.
  • Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Effective communication skills with patients, families, physicians, and hospital staff.
  • Special certifications may be required by the department.

  • Experience in nursing, particularly in pediatric care.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of relevant nursing protocols and standards.

Pay
