Registered Nurse - Hospital Internal Medicine - RN

About the role

The position is available in the Domitilla (DO4D) unit at Mayo Clinic Rochester, Minnesota, focusing on internal medicine and nephrology services. The unit also provides inpatient hospice care. The role is open to both experienced nurses and new graduates.

Responsibilities

• Care for medical patients presenting with various acute or chronic health problems, managing multiple comorbidities.
• Provide inpatient hospice care.
• Participate in daily multidisciplinary patient care rounds.
• Support discharge planning for complex cases.
• May assume a preceptor role or lead informal and formal leadership activities.
• Engage in quality improvement initiatives.
• Delegates patient care based on skill level, experience, patient acuity, fiscal accountability, and resource availability.
• Communicates effectively with patients and families, mentors, and teaches.
• Works flexible hours, including days, evenings, nights, holidays, and weekends.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a nursing program recognized by ACEN, CCNE, or NLN CNEA.
• One year of RN experience required.
• Current RN license by applicable state requirements.
• BLS certification valid for 90 days post start date.
• Additional qualifications include excellent communication skills, teamwork experience, computer proficiency, flexibility, adaptability, leadership, and critical thinking skills.

Pay and Schedule

The pay range is $43.84 - $66.84 per hour. The role is full-time with a variable schedule accommodating days, evenings, nights, holidays, and weekends.
