Registered Nurse Home Health PRN

About the role

The Registered Nurse (RN) with Homecare is a professional caregiver responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care in the home setting for adult and pediatric patients and their families. The RN provides clinical care in compliance with hospice/home health policies and procedures, legal, and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process using technology, therapeutic intervention, evidence-based practice, and coordination with other health team members.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients in their home setting.
• Deliver compassionate care to patients in their own homes, enhancing their comfort and healing.
• Gain specialized experience in areas such as wound care, medication management, and IV therapy in a homecare setting.

Requirements

• Current RN License in state of practice.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification for healthcare providers.
• Current driver’s license, insured, and reliable transportation with an acceptable driving record.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to lift and move patients and equipment as needed.
• Manual dexterity for operating complex and delicate equipment.

Qualifications

• Current RN License in state of practice.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification for healthcare providers.

Pay

The hourly range for this position is $35.22 - $53.29, with actual hourly rates dependent upon experience.

Schedule

PRN as needed.

Physical Requirements

• Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.
• Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.
• Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy.
• Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients.
• Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.
• Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc.).
• May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.
• For roles requiring driving: Expected to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles.
