Registered Nurse - Hematology/Bone Marrow Transplant

About the Role

Registered Nurse providing specialized care in a Bone Marrow Transplant/Hematology unit with HEPA filtration to protect immunosuppressed patients.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care, including chemotherapy, blood transfusions, stem cell infusions, and supportive therapies.
• Provide patient and family education, emotional support, and coordinate care transitions.
• Participate in cancer research programs within the Mayo Cancer Center.
• Follow Mayo Nursing Care Model, ensuring quality and safety in a high-acuity environment.
• Perform additional duties such as apheresis/marrow harvest preparation and managing isolation rooms.
• Mentor and collaborate with team members, support quality improvement activities, and potentially lead or participate in committees.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Minimum of one year of RN experience.
• Current RN license, BLS certification, and any additional state or specialty certifications as required.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, critical thinking, and computer skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Schedule

Full-time, nonexempt position with variable shifts.
