About the role

The Head Nurse oversees patient care, staff management, and daily operations within a specific nursing unit. They utilize the nursing process to make clinical decisions, ensuring safe, quality care that respects patient rights and dignity. The role involves providing clinical leadership, guiding nursing staff, and collaborating with leadership to meet departmental goals.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and review diagnostic data related to patient conditions.
• Collaborate with leadership and other disciplines to identify improvement opportunities and implement change.
• Provide guidance during life-threatening situations and evaluate intervention effectiveness.
• Implement process improvements to enhance patient outcomes.
• Participate in clinical leadership activities such as coaching, mentoring, staffing, and performance evaluations.
• Contribute to initiatives aimed at improving healthcare delivery.
• Communicate effectively with team members to ensure coordinated patient care.
• Support ongoing professional development and complete assigned duties.

Qualifications & Skills

• Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar setting or unit.
• Computer literacy.
• RN licensure with BLS certification within 14 days of hire; ACLS preferred.
