Registered Nurse, Geriatrics / Pulmonary, Full Time, Night

To fulfill the needs of patients in a variety of age groups, their family members, and the community by performing varied patient care tasks and functions in accordance with licensure, certification, training, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform varied patient care tasks and functions in accordance with licensure, certification, training, and regulatory requirements
• Physically assist patients, requiring stretching, bending, lifting, sitting, kneeling, stooping, standing, walking, pushing, and pulling
• Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills, including speech clarity and understanding relayed information
• Apply deductive and inductive reasoning skills to problem-solving
• Perform work accurately and pay attention to details while frequently changing tasks
• Function competently in stressful situations and changing work environments related to acute, chronic, complex, and/or terminal disease processes
• Work cooperatively within a multidisciplinary health system team (e.g., MDs, Rehab, Respiratory, DI, Laboratory)
• Utilize effective time management skills to set priorities, perform responsibilities, problem-solve, and deliver care
• Considerable walking, standing, sitting, reaching, filing, typing, and photocopying

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing required
• Current/valid State of New Jersey RN license (or legal permission to work from the New Jersey Board of Nursing)
• Completion of general nursing orientation, CPR certification, and unit-based orientation
• 1 year of RN Cardiac/Tele experience required
• Computer and keyboard skills
• Medical terminology required
• ACLS certification required
• Cardiac/telemetry training required

Physical and Cognitive Requirements

• Full range of body motion including assisting patients, stretching, bending, lifting, sitting, kneeling, stooping, standing, walking, pushing, and pulling
• Classified as Very Heavy Work (USDOL): exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, 50+ pounds frequently, and 20+ pounds constantly
• Must follow NIOSH guidelines (average worker should not lift more than 51 pounds without assistance)
• Constant talking and listening in English

Schedule

Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM

Pay

Pay Range: $47.80 - $59.75 per hour
