About the role

Stoughton Health has an excellent opportunity for a Registered Nurse to join our Geriatric Psychiatry team on a Full-Time basis. The registered nurse position is responsible for providing professional nursing care to patients in assigned units. The RN maintains accountability for their own practice and delegates/provides direction to other nursing personnel in the unit in accordance with their level of experience and expertise.

Essential functions

  • Ability to perform essential functions of a Registered Nurse including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes, planning, and evaluation
  • Effectively enhances the quality and effectiveness of nursing practices
  • Maintains knowledge and competency that reflects current nursing practices
  • Interacts with and contributes to the professional development of peers and colleagues
  • Collaborates with patient, family, and others in the conduct of nursing practice
  • Integrates research findings into clinical practice

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Registered Nursing
  • Currently licensed by the Board of Licensing and Regulation in the State of Wisconsin as a Registered Nurse in good standing
  • Current BLS certification at hire
  • Non-violent crisis intervention or workplace violence training every two years on a rolling calendar
  • Basic Computer Skills: able to perform basic things such as open a document, change font, save a document, write a letter (Beginning Microsoft Office Suite Skills)

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing and currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in good standing in the State of WI
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
  • Requires one year relevant nursing experience or supervisory recommendation
  • Must have current BLS certification on hire
  • ACLS certification within 90 days of hire
  • PALS certification within 6 months
  • Non-violent crisis intervention training every two years on rolling calendar

Schedule

  • Full-Time, .9 FTE (36 hours per week)
  • Scheduled Days: Variable
  • Scheduled Shift: 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., 12-hour shifts
  • Every Other Weekend
  • Every 3rd Holiday
