A Registered Nurse (RN) who excels in this role at North Alabama Shoals Hospital's Behavioral Health Department.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes specialized plan-of-care intervention and serves as a patient-care innovator.
  • Serves as a patient-care innovator by shaping exceptional patient journeys every day and leveraging skills and cutting-edge technology to directly impact patient wellbeing.
  • Performs plan-of-care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care activities.
  • Documents patient care provided in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Maintains thorough documentation of patient condition, communicating with the care team, physicians, patients, and families.
  • Assists patients with activities of daily living (hygiene, elimination, nutrition, ambulation).
  • Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate care (transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs).
  • Affirms patient and family education based on learning needs.
  • Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
  • Participates in unit and organizational performance improvement and required continuing education.
  • Provides quality patient care and works other shifts/units as needed; may be assigned on-call.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Current state RN license.
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
  • Basic Life Support certification is required within 14 days of hire.
  • Requires one year of nursing experience.
