About the role
United Health Services is seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) Staff Nurse to join the Gastroenterology (GI) team at Binghamton General Hospital. The GI RN Staff Nurse delivers direct nursing care within the GI setting, collaborates with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate comprehensive patient care, and monitors patient status with timely response to changes in condition. The role includes providing education to patients and families regarding procedures, treatments, and recovery, while ensuring accurate, timely documentation in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards.
Responsibilities
- Deliver direct nursing care within the Gastroenterology (GI) setting.
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
- Monitor patient status and respond promptly to changes in condition.
- Provide education to patients and families regarding procedures, treatments, and recovery.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards.
Education/Experience
- Minimum Required: Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing.
- Preferred: Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing.
- Previous clinical nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting.
License/Certification
- Minimum Required: Current NYS RN License.
- Preferred: Professional certification in a related nursing specialty.
- Relevant skills certification (e.g., ACLS, PALS, TNCC) as required by home unit assigned.

Pay
$40.70 - $61.05 per hour, depending on experience.
Sign-On Bonus
Up to $15,000.00 for candidates who meet eligibility requirements.
Schedule
- Day-rotational, 36 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
- Participation in the on-call rotation is required.
- Staff must be able to respond and report to work within 30 minutes of being contacted while on call.
