Responsibilities

• Provide for patient needs using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation)
• Coordinate care provided by ancillary services
• Serve as the patient advocate and responsible for nursing care in newborn nursery and postpartum units
• Care for antepartum, high-risk postpartum patients, and the mother/baby couplet

Requirements

• 1-2 years of medical surgical nursing experience
• Labor and delivery experience
• Newborn nursery experience
• Mother/baby nursing experience

Qualifications

• Associate's degree required
• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Neonatal Advanced Life Support (NALS) certification required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred
• Registered Nurse certification
• Electronic Fetal Monitoring (RNC EFM) certification preferred
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification preferred
