Registered Nurse- Full Time, Days, Endoscopy, Summit NJ

About the role

The Endoscopy unit at Atlantic Health requires a Registered Nurse who demonstrates knowledge of the conditions/diagnoses, procedures and equipment encountered in the Endoscopy unit including Gastroenterology, and Pulmonary. They must maintain SGNA standards of practice, assess patient reaction and understanding, and actively involve patients and family members in teaching.

Responsibilities

• Maintains accurate, complete health care records and reports.
• Administers medications to patients and monitors for side effects and reactions.
• Prescribes assistive medical devices and related treatments.
• Makes assessments, implements, plans, or evaluates patient nursing care plans.
• Records patient vital signs and medical information.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Current NJ RN license.
• BLS certification.
• Able to push/pull/lift up to 35 lbs.
• Able to stand/walk for long periods.
• Obtain BSN within 5 years of hire.
• Preferred: BSN, ACLS, PALS, CGRN, Endoscopy experience, Critical Care experience.

Skills

Knowledge of conditions/diagnoses, procedures and equipment encountered in the Endoscopy unit including Gastroenterology, and Pulmonary. Knowledge of and consistent maintenance of SGNA standards of practice. Ability to assess patient reaction and understanding, and actively involve patients and family members in teaching.

Pay

Hourly wage or salary (or a range) will be confirmed at the time of offer.

Schedule

The department is open Monday – Friday 630am to 6 pm, and Saturday, 7 am-4 pm, with an on-call team available any time the department is closed for emergencies.
