Registered Nurse, Full Time, Days 7a-8p, Endovascular/ Interventional Radiology, Operating Room, Atlantic Health Morristown Medical Center
About the role
Responsible for general nursing activities in the Endovascular Operating Room. Administers Conscious (Moderate) Sedation under the direct supervision of the operating physician following AORN guidelines. The perioperative nurse designs, coordinates, and delivers care to meet the needs of patients undergoing operative or other invasive procedures, ensuring quality services and efficient operations.
Establishes, ensures, and supervises surgical team members and procedures to maintain a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, friends, and families. Promotes and restores patient health by completing the nursing process, collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members, and supervising assigned team members.
Assures quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards, measuring health outcomes, and following hospital and nursing division philosophies and standards. Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies, medication administration, and controlled substance regulations.
Maintains continuity among nursing teams by documenting as per policy and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs utilizing SBAR while maintaining patient confidentiality. Ensures proper function and operation of equipment, troubleshoots malfunctions, and evaluates new equipment as necessary. Maintains fiscal responsibility by accurately documenting and charging for supplies.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge through continuing education and organizational mandates. Achieves and maintains professional certification as required. Contributes to team efforts and high-quality, safe patient outcomes through collaboration with peers, supervisors, surgeons, and anesthesiologists while promoting all PRIDE values.

Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (Bachelor’s Degree preferred; ASN must complete BSN within five years of start date).
- Current New Jersey Registered Nurse License.
- BLS and ACLS certification required upon start.
- PALS certification preferred or must be obtained within 3 months of start date.
- One year of related experience preferred (Cath Lab, IR).
- Moderate Sedation experience required.
