About the role

Responsibilities
- Interacts with co-workers, patients, their family/designated care partner(s), and other staff in accordance with Jefferson's values.
- Partners with patients, their family/designated care partner(s) to identify learning needs and priorities, and educates them about their health and care.
- Minimizes risks by following established nursing practices and protocols, and by assessing and managing potential hazards.
- Uses information technology to communicate, manage knowledge, and support ethical decision-making.
- Maintains and improves patient care processes using data-driven methods and continuous improvement strategies.
- Fosters open communication and teamwork within nursing and interdisciplinary teams, promoting quality patient care.
- Creates an inclusive environment where patients, their family/designated care partner(s), and colleagues feel valued and respected.
- Demonstrates leadership by actively participating in committees and providing mentorship to other staff members.
- Provides feedback and incorporates it into practice to enhance professional growth and patient care.
Requirements
- Specialized Diploma from an accredited school of nursing.
- Knowledge of patient-and-family-centered care practices.
- Cultural awareness and sensitivity.
- Effective communication skills.
- Knowledge of patient assessment and care.
- Experience in medication administration and prescription.
- Discharge planning skills.
- Health information documentation skills.
- BLS certification from the AHA.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) or completion of a BSN program within 3 years of hire.
- One year of previous experience as an RN in an acute care setting.
- Active RN license in the state of practice.
Skills
Proficiency in using information technology, effective communication, patient assessment and care, medication administration, discharge planning, health information documentation, and cultural competency.
