About the Role
Provides direct patient care based on the knowledge of ANA Standards of Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing, Butler Hospital policies and procedures, and the RI Nurse Practice Act on Delmonico 3, an Adult Inpatient Addiction/Detox Unit (ADI).
Responsibilities
- Participates in treatment planning to coordinate management of medical and nursing care and discharge planning of patients.
- Coordinates Psychiatric and/or Medical emergencies to ensure proper care for the individual in crisis and safety for all other patients.
- Participates as an active team member by assisting other staff and accepting additional assignments to complete essential patient care and unit responsibilities.
- Administers medications with knowledge of action, mode of administration, side effects, and contraindications.
- Assumes the role of Charge Nurse for the shift.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- B.S.N preferred.
- Current RI nursing license.
