The Recovery Village Kansas City (KCR) is an addiction treatment center with a continuum of care for anyone struggling with substance use disorders. We offer a holistic treatment approach to addiction and treatment for co-occurring conditions. Our 80-bed treatment center in Kansas City is dedicated to providing all levels of care, including medical detox, residential treatment, and outpatient programs. Our facility is located in tranquil, convenient Raytown, Missouri, about 30 minutes from the Kansas City International Airport.

About the role

The Registered Nurse performs a wide variety of job duties during a shift, caring for and educating patients about their medical and psychiatric conditions. Establishing trust and building rapport with patients and their families are key elements of this position. Works effectively with the facility leadership team to ensure success of the facility.

Responsibilities

  • Complete appropriate documents within the required timeframe after admission to the program
  • Maintain medical records
  • Administer medications as indicated and monitor detoxification process
  • Transcribe Physician orders and implement all Medical Protocols as ordered
  • Confer with and assist medical personnel, both internal and external resources
  • Provide documentation which reflects services for each patient in accordance with licensure standards
  • Assess the medical and psychiatric needs of the patient, determine the urgency of their needs, and expedite treatment as required
  • Effectively communicate concerns about patient health to appropriate personnel and follow up as necessary
  • Educate patients about medications, health issues, and medical conditions
  • Take verbal orders from the medical provider, document them in the patient record, and carry them out accurately and professionally
  • Provide routine nursing care under the supervision of the Director of Nursing

Requirements

  • Minimum Associate's Degree in Nursing; Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of licensure, active and in good standing
  • Minimum two years' experience as a Registered Nurse preferred
  • Behavioral health experience preferred

Schedule

Full-time, 3 × 12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)

Pay

Starting rate: $40/hour, based on experience
