About the Role

The Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the Freestanding Emergency Department. In collaboration with medical providers and other members of the care team, the RN provides individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models such as "Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage." The RN serves as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers while supporting the organization’s vision, mission, and values to ensure an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management, including reassessments after appropriate intervention.
• Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by medical providers.
• Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
• Respond promptly to patient requests and strive to anticipate and proactively resolve patient needs.
• Teach patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, patient status, treatment plans, medications, side effects, and follow-up measures, translating complex medical terminology for complete understanding.
• Educate patients and families on non-medicinal follow-up measures, such as healthy diet, exercise, disease prevention, and lifestyle changes.
• Prepare patients and families for future self-management.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Associate Degree in Nursing.
• PRN position requiring availability to work at least 1 shift per week.
• Must have Emergency Department (ED) experience.
• Certifications required within 30 days of employment start date:
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS).
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
