About the Role

The Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care aligned with departmental requirements and state/specialty scope and standards. Using the "Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage" nursing model, the RN collaborates with medical providers and care teams to provide individualized, compassionate care. Key responsibilities include serving as a patient/family advocate and aligning with organizational vision, mission, and values to support an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patient pain regularly and promote effective pain management, including reassessments after interventions.
  • Perform procedures, monitoring, and other functions as ordered by medical providers.
  • Document care administration in the patient medical record thoroughly and timely.
  • Provide exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests and anticipating needs proactively.
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, status, treatment plans, medications, and potential side effects using clear, non-technical language.
  • Teach non-medicinal follow-up measures, such as lifestyle changes, healthy diet, exercise, and disease prevention.
  • Prepare patients and families for future self-management.

Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Associate Degree

Certifications

The following certifications must be obtained within specified timeframes of employment:

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – within 30 days
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) – within 30 days
  • Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) – within 6 months
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) – within 30 days
  • NIH Stroke Scale – within 60 days
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) – within 30 days
