Registered Nurse - Float Pool - F/T Nights

About the role

The Registered Nurse at Hackensack Meridian Health is responsible for delivering high-quality, evidence-based patient care. They assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for a diverse range of patients under the guidance of an interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Collects and analyzes comprehensive patient data for assessment and planning.
• Develops and implements a plan of care that addresses patient needs and outcomes.
• Communicates with patients and families, other healthcare providers, and support staff to coordinate care.
• Administers medications accurately and documents care using electronic systems.
• Coordinates patient discharge to ensure smooth transitions and continuity of care.
• Evaluates patient progress and adjusts care plans as necessary.
• Adapts to changing patient conditions and responds to ethical concerns.
• Learns and maintains certifications to stay current with best practices and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Current New Jersey Nursing license.
• American Heart Association (AHA) BLS/CPR certification.
• One year of acute care RN experience preferred.
• National certification preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred or willing to pursue within three years of hire.
• Quick learning ability and adaptability to changing patient needs.
• Strong focus on teamwork, ongoing education, and patient-centered care.
• Self-starter with excellent time management and multitasking skills.

Skills

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Proficiency in electronic documentation and medication administration.
• Knowledge of patient safety and quality improvement principles.

Schedule

Must be available to work a minimum of 6 hours per day standing and lifting a minimum of 35 lbs. Shifts may vary based on department needs.
