Job Summary

The RN provides safe, age-appropriate patient care and functions as an advisor and resource for patients and their families.

Requirements

  • Telemetry experience required
  • Peds/PICU/NICU experience required
  • 2+ years of experience required
  • RN License in Maryland or Compact State (as applicable)

Additional Requirements for Pediatric Float Roles

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the American Heart Association
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
  • STABLE within 6 months of hire
  • Chemo/biotherapy provider course within 6 months of hire
  • Preferred: Certified Pediatric Nurse (CPN) or Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) - Pediatric or Neonatal

Additional Requirements for Critical Care Float Roles

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association
  • Trauma Certification within 6 months of hire
  • NIH Stroke Scale certification within 6 months of hire

Float Pool Staffing

  • Follows a 6-week schedule
  • A weekend obligation of 4 shifts
  • 3 major holidays and 2 difficult-to-staff days required
  • Eligible for shift incentives once flex obligations have been met
