Job Summary
The RN provides safe, age-appropriate patient care and functions as an advisor and resource for patients and their families.
Requirements
- Telemetry experience required
- Peds/PICU/NICU experience required
- 2+ years of experience required
- RN License in Maryland or Compact State (as applicable)
Additional Requirements for Pediatric Float Roles
- Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the American Heart Association
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
- STABLE within 6 months of hire
- Chemo/biotherapy provider course within 6 months of hire
- Preferred: Certified Pediatric Nurse (CPN) or Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) - Pediatric or Neonatal
Additional Requirements for Critical Care Float Roles
- Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association
- Trauma Certification within 6 months of hire
- NIH Stroke Scale certification within 6 months of hire
Float Pool Staffing
- Follows a 6-week schedule
- A weekend obligation of 4 shifts
- 3 major holidays and 2 difficult-to-staff days required
- Eligible for shift incentives once flex obligations have been met
