Registered Nurse- Flex/After-Hours

Position Summary

The Flex/After-Hours Hospice RN delivers compassionate, patient-centered care for individuals receiving comprehensive health care services in a variety of home care settings, including private residences, skilled nursing facilities, personal care homes, or wherever the patient calls home. This hybrid role supports continuity of care outside of regular business hours and also provides flexible dayshift coverage based on the evolving needs of the hospice team. These needs may include responding to urgent patient needs, managing symptoms, supporting new admissions, and assisting with ongoing case management.

Requirements

• A graduate of an accredited school of registered nursing.
• Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse through the Kentucky Board of Nursing or participating COMPACT state Board of Nursing.
• One year of general nursing experience is preferred.
• New nursing graduates will be considered.
• Skilled in nursing practice and able to maintain professionalism in moments of emotional stress.
• Provide care in a compassionate nature while serving a diverse population respectfully and professionally.
• Complies with accepted professional and ethical standards and principles.
• Possesses and maintains current CPR certification.
• Have satisfactory references from nursing schools, previous (or current) employers and/or professional peers.
• Have excellent observation, good nursing judgment and communication skills.
• Able to provide accurate and timely documentation.
• Self-directed to work with minimal supervision and within an interdisciplinary team.
• Flexible and cooperative in fulfilling role obligation to meet the needs of patients and BCN.

Qualifications

• Passing references from nursing schools, previous (or current) employers and/or professional peers.
• Ability to provide accurate and timely documentation.

Benefits

• $4.00 per hour on-call shift differential pay for shifts after 5:00pm weeknights and all day for weekend shifts, in addition to base pay.

Pay

• Base pay is provided.

Schedule

• 3 13-hour shifts every 2 weeks.
• One weekday 8:00am-9:00pm every other week & every other Saturday & Sunday 8:00am-9:00pm.
• Weekday is flexible and will be determined in scheduling with the supervisor.
