Responsibilities
- Provides safe, competent nursing care for patients in accordance with facility policies, standards, and philosophy.
- Provides professional leadership and support to the healthcare team.
- Oversees and guides employees under his/her supervision.
- Demonstrates Service Excellence standards at all times.
- Adheres to the concepts of Patient Centered Care as the foundation for all nursing care.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing and completion of a Specialty course or equivalent (BSN preferred).
- One year of acute care experience or successful completion of an approved specialty course.
- Current RN license in the State of Nevada.
- Current BLS Certification.
- Current ACLS Certification (for adult patients), PALS Certification (for pediatric patients), or NRP Certification (for Neonatal patients), as required by department.
- Other certifications as may be required by facility, specialty, or department.
- Must successfully pass any pre-employment assessment(s) required by the facility.
An RN graduate (a nurse who has completed a course of study at a school of nursing and is eligible for the NCLEX) may perform under the direct supervision of the Charge Nurse or RN designee and must hold an interim RN license granted by the Nevada State Board of Nursing.
