About the role

The position is a licensed professional responsible for a group of patients for a designated time frame. This individual provides safe, quality care to these patients using the nursing process as the basis for clinical practice.

Responsibilities

• Affirms patient safety and quality care through assessment, guidance, and facilitation of workflow on the unit.
• Assumes patient assignments when necessary and assigns staff based on patient acuity, continuity of care, and staff competency.
• Mentors and integrates new staff and agency personnel into the unit’s culture and culture of the hospital.
• Functions as a clinical resource and leader, teaching others to use patient care equipment safely.
• Maintains awareness of Joint Commission standards, state codes, and practice acts, and monitors and evaluates nursing care.
• Communicates and collaborates with bed placement and the clinical resource to ensure clinical placement is expedited.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of Washington.
• Successful completion of a graduate nurse residency program orientation or six months' experience as a Registered Nurse.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
