Registered Nurse ER

About the Role

Mission Community Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Emergency Room (ER) team on night shifts. You will independently utilize the nursing process to provide safe, therapeutic, and efficient care for a group of patients, following established policies and procedures. This role involves delivering high-quality, individualized patient care through a coordinated team approach with physicians, staff, other departments, patients, and their families. Compliance with the California Nurse Practice Act, Article 2, Section 2725 of the Business and Professions Code, is required.

Responsibilities

• Independently apply the nursing process to ensure safe, therapeutic, and efficient patient care.
• Collaborate with physicians, staff, other departments, patients, and families to deliver coordinated care.
• Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
• Utilize strong organizational, communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Perform proficiently in computer operations relevant to the role.

Requirements

• Current license with the California State Nursing Board.
• Ability to interact effectively with patients, families, physicians, ancillary services, and community resources.
• Demonstrated verbal communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• NIHSS Certification
• FIRE CARD (within 90 days of hire)
• MAB (Management of Assaultive Behavior) within 30 days of hire
• Advanced MAB (within 30 days of hire)
• Arrhythmia/Dysrhythmia Course (preferred)
• ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course), TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course), and CEN (Certified Emergency Nurse) preferred.
