Registered Nurse - EP Lab
About the role
The RN in the EP Lab circulates, scrubs, and monitors electrophysiology procedures while working closely with the cardiologist and other team members. Procedures performed include pacemaker implants, ICD implants, loop recorder implants, tilt table studies, electrophysiology studies and ablations for various cardiac arrhythmias, cardiac biopsies, and right heart catheterizations. The nurse functions independently and is accountable for utilizing the nursing process in the EP Lab, coordinates care with the multidisciplinary team, delegates tasks appropriately, identifies hospital resources, serves as a clinical resource for new employees, and demonstrates positive formal or informal leadership within the unit or department. This position requires multi‑campus work with rotations at Saint Luke's Hospital on the Plaza and Saint Luke's Hospital in Lee's Summit.
Responsibilities
- Circulate, scrub, and monitor EP procedures (pacemaker implants, ICD implants, loop recorder implants, tilt table studies, electrophysiology studies and ablations, cardiac biopsies, right heart catheterizations)
- Apply the nursing process independently in the EP Lab
- Coordinate patient care with the multidisciplinary team
- Delegate tasks appropriately
- Identify and utilize hospital resources
- Serve as a clinical resource for new employees
- Demonstrate positive formal or informal leadership within the unit/department
Requirements
- 1 year of applicable experience
- Current Registered Nurse license
- Associate Degree in Nursing
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification — American Heart Association or Red Cross
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification — American Heart Association or Red Cross
Schedule
Full‑time days, Monday through Friday. No holiday, weekend, or on‑call requirements.
