Registered Nurse - EP Lab

About the role

A Registered Nurse in the EP Lab at Bethesda North Hospital will provide specialized care to patients undergoing electrophysiology procedures. You will monitor patients closely, assist the clinical team during complex rhythm-management interventions, and ensure safety throughout each phase of care.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment while maintaining patient’s autonomy, dignity, and rights.
  • Evaluate the plan of care for patient based on optimal specific patient outcomes.
  • Communicate assessment findings to other health care providers as appropriate.
  • Develop both short and long term goals with patient/family and healthcare team including discharge planning.
  • Implement plan of care for patient.
  • Collaborate with the patient/family and with other members of the health care team, including physicians, to revise plan of care as needed.
  • Supervise the care that was delegated to other health care team members.
  • Utilizes chain of command appropriately.
  • Builds collegial relationships with physicians and other health team members.
  • Demonstrates autonomy in identifying opportunities for process improvement.
  • Supports organizational activities by participating in activities such as committees, staff meetings, councils.
  • Delivers care in a non-judgmental and non-discriminatory manner that is sensitive to patient diversity.
  • Seeks available resources to help formulate ethical decisions.
  • Prioritizes the workload according to patient’s needs, requests, and the needs of the unit/facility.
  • Recognizes emergency situations, notifies appropriate personnel, and begins emergency measures.
  • Performs initial and ongoing assessment of patient and family.
  • Completes initial assessment tool.
  • Documents ongoing assessment per unit/TriHealth guidelines.
  • Communicates assessment findings to other health care providers as appropriate.
  • Includes health counseling and health teaching needs in assessment.
  • Performs technical skills according to policy and procedure and accepted standards within their area of practice.
  • Safely administers medications/treatments and monitors their effects.
  • Uses all equipment in a safe, appropriate manner.
  • Plans care for patient and family based on assessment, standards of care, and optimal specific outcomes.
  • Initiates and individualizes appropriate patient care guidelines/plan of care or clinical pathways.
  • Updates current plan of care as needed based on patient/family input and healthcare needs.
  • Communicates plan of care to others.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree or Diploma in Nursing.
  • New hires required to obtain BSN within 5 years of hire.
  • Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS).
  • A registered nurse knowledge, judgment, and skills derived from the principles of biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences to meet complex health care needs at various stages of the life cycle.
  • 3 years Clinical in Nursing experience.

  • Experience in procedural EP, Cath lab, or IR (preferred).

$3hr Procedural Pay

Schedule

Full Time - (80 hours bi-weekly) 7am - 5:30pm No Weekends No Holidays No on Call Requirement
