REGISTERED NURSE, Endoscopy Unit, Part Time

About the role

This Registered Nurse - Endoscopy Unit opportunity is part time at 20 hours per week, offers full benefits and a convenient day shift schedule. We are looking for a dynamic individual to provide direct patient care to infant through geriatric patient populations.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates supportive behaviors necessary for performing bedside report using IMAP & SBAR (both accomplished in partnership with patient inside room)
• Demonstrates ability to assess cardio-respiratory systems for changes in infant to geriatric patients and is able to treat appropriately
• Fully responsible for the care of the endoscopes/instruments/equipment during the procedure, including cleaning and processing of scopes and reusable instruments at the end of the procedure in partnership with the endoscopy tech
• Preps and drapes patients correctly for all procedures
• Carrries out medical and surgical asepsis during all procedures
• Maintains surgical equipment and endoscopy inventory
• Communicates with surgeon and anesthesiologist continuously and as needed about patient condition
• Assists with the maintenance of surgical equipment and endoscopy inventory
• Participates in performance improvement activities
• Makes sure all appropriate needs of surgical operating team are met
• Makes sure operating room / endoscopy procedure room is monitored, positioned and assisted patient during procedure

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
• Associate degree Nursing required
• BSN preferred
• Two (2) years post graduate experience in Surgery or Medical/Surgical Nursing
• BLS and ACLS required
