About the role
The Registered Nurse Employee Health role supports workforce health through pre-placement screenings, immunizations, TB surveillance, drug testing, and fit-for-duty evaluations. The RN conducts annual health assessments, manages immunization compliance, and responds to work-related exposures, including blood and body fluid incidents. They provide education, coordinate return-to-work processes, and ensure documentation accuracy in accordance with professional standards and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Conduct pre-placement health screenings, immunizations, and TB surveillance
- Perform drug testing and fit-for-duty evaluations
- Manage annual health assessments and immunization compliance
- Respond to work-related exposures, including blood and body fluid incidents
- Provide health education and coordinate return-to-work processes
- Ensure accurate documentation in compliance with professional standards and regulations
- Travel between sites as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or Healthcare
- Active Illinois RN license
- 3+ years of clinical experience
- Certifications in BLS, drug screening, and phlebotomy (required or acquired within specified timeframes)
- Ability to work independently with initiative and professionalism
- Commitment to patient safety and infection control
