Registered Nurse Employee Health - Part-Time

About the role

The Registered Nurse Employee Health supports workforce health through pre-placement screenings, return-to-work clearances, fit-for-duty evaluations, and annual health assessments. This role involves administering immunizations, tuberculosis surveillance, drug testing, respirator fit testing, and managing immunization compliance. The nurse communicates with staff, reviews lab results, and handles occupational exposures, including triaging exposures, ordering labs, and providing follow-up care. They participate in vaccination programs and educate team members on health protocols.

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-placement screenings, return-to-work clearances, and fit-for-duty evaluations
• Administer immunizations, tuberculosis surveillance, and drug testing
• Perform respirator fit testing and manage immunization compliance
• Communicate with staff and review lab results
• Triage, order labs, and provide follow-up care for occupational exposures
• Participate in vaccination programs and educate team members on health protocols
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with safety and infection control standards
• Provide support during off-hours for work-related exposures
• Travel between sites as needed

Requirements

• Valid Illinois RN license
• BLS certification
• 3+ years of clinical nursing experience
• Strong documentation, assessment, and patient support skills
• Ability to work independently and travel between sites
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
