About the role
Provides professional nursing care in the Emergency Department, coordinating patient care and ensuring safety and comfort across all age groups.
Responsibilities
- Performs assessments and monitors hemodynamic status
- Interprets cardiac rhythms and assigns triage categories
- Documents patient information accurately
- Offers age-appropriate care and educates patients and families
- Collaborates with healthcare teams
- Assists physicians with procedures
- Manages IV therapy
- Maintains safety standards
- Supervises staff and new employees
- Contributes to performance improvement initiatives
- Participates in ongoing education
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Active RN license
- BLS certification
- Preferred experience in critical care
- Certifications in ACLS, PALS, and ENPC (required or recommended)
- Knowledge of CDC and CMS standards
- Commitment to professional growth and compliance with hospital policies
