REGISTERED NURSE- EMERGENCY SERVICE (PT 6a-6p)

Riverside Healthcare is seeking a skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Emergency Department in Kankakee, Illinois. The RN will provide high-quality, compassionate care to patients undergoing various emergency treatments in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' physical, emotional, and psychological needs.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
• Administer medications, treatments, and procedures as ordered by providers; monitor patient responses and update care plans as necessary.
• Continuously monitor patients' vital signs, physical condition, and response to interventions; document observations accurately.
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and manage treatment plans.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to discharge planning.
• Educate patients and families about medical conditions, treatments, and post-discharge care, considering cultural and age-specific needs.
• Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Engage with patients and families to promote comfort, trust, and a positive patient experience.
• Contribute to a collaborative work environment through open communication, mutual respect, and teamwork.
• Respond to medical emergencies with quick and effective intervention, including life-saving procedures and patient stabilization.
• Adhere to infection control protocols and ensure a clean, safe environment for patients and staff.
• Participate in ongoing professional development, orientation of new staff, and quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Illinois.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• TNCC or TNS within 18 months of hire.
• ENPC within 24 months of hire.
• ECRN within 24 months of hire (only ECRNs can answer the EMS communication radio).
• Mental Health First Aid or Crisis Prevention Institute Certified (CPI) within the first year of hire.
• PALS within the first year of hire.
• ACLS within the first year of hire.
• New Graduate RNs starting on or after 1/1/25 must earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) within 3 years of start date.

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of acute care nursing experience.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
• Professional nursing certification in area of specialty.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.

Pay

Pay Range: USD $34.52 - USD $45.34 per hour.
