Registered Nurse - Emergency Room - Weekend Only

About the Role

In the Emergency Department (ED) at Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center, the Registered Nurse (RN) plays a crucial role in delivering care to emergent and critical patients.

Responsibilities

• Engage in didactic learning sessions designed to enhance your understanding of Emergency Department (ED) nursing, with a focus on utilizing a state-of-the-art simulation lab.
• Apply critical thinking skills to manage high-acuity and complex patients effectively.
• Pursue certification as a trauma nurse, with opportunities for professional growth in a Level 1 Trauma Center.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program with an Associate’s degree in Nursing is required.
• Valid RN license in Connecticut.
• One or more years of Emergency Room nursing experience.

Qualifications (Preferred)

• BLS/CPR certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross).
• ACLS and TNCC certification (support available post-hire).

Important Consideration: This role is not designed for new graduates or those seeking training as an Emergency Room nurse. Candidates must be able to function independently in the Emergency Room.

Schedule

Full-Time – Weekends Only – 12-Hour Day Shift.

• Weekend Only Program runs from 7:00 p.m. Friday through 7:30 a.m. Monday.
• You will work every weekend, minus one per quarter.
• You will work a total of 24 hours, consisting of two 12-hour shifts or three 8-hour shifts, depending on the unit.
• If a Holiday does not fall within these hours, it is not considered part of the weekend schedule.

Pay

• Hourly position, included in RN Step Program pay range: $36.15 to $59.95.
• Specialized increased Weekend differential pay during the 24 hours worked, plus an additional bonus of 6 hours of pay at base salary (totaling 30 hours of pay).
• All evening and night shift differentials apply during the 24 hours worked.
• Specialty pay available for experienced nurses with one or more years of RN experience.
